The Army War College (HAWC) organized, under the auspices of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC) and in collaboration with the Cyprus Security and Defence Academy (CSDA), a training activity titled: “Modern Leadership in the Context of the Law of Armed Conflicts and Open Source Intelligence.”
The activity took place from the 14th to the 18th of October 2024, at the college’s training facilities, where three thematic areas were presented, focusing on the international law of armed conflicts, the influence of open-source intelligence on the decision-making processes, and the characteristics and skills of the modern leader.
Present at the opening and closing ceremonies were the General Consul of the Republic of Cyprus in Thessaloniki, Mr. Konstantinos Polykarpou, the representative of the CSDA, Captain Andreas Patsalides, and the training manager of the ESDC, Ms. Maria Grazia Romano.
A total of 37 participants attended the training, including military and law enforcement officers, scholars and diplomats from 12 countries, namely: Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Malta, Portugal, Romania and the United States of America.
Lectures were delivered by subject matter experts from European organizations, Greek and Cyprus universities and specialized military personnel.
